First and foremost I'm a dreamer. Then a daughter, sister, grandaughter, goddaughter, godmother, baker and cook (amateur) and last and least important, a student. The motto I go by, oh so cheesily, is live, love, laugh and learn, I like to keep things simple.
This blog will mainly be about FOOD.. especially CAKES but to pre-warn you I may go off topic at times as my mind wanders here there and everywhere with not much control but we'll see how it rolls out.
I thought it would be an idea to share with you all what I do in terms of baking and food, two of my great loves... so here's a taster of what's to come...
profiteroles with a homemade coffee creme patissiere // dark chocolate macarons with a dark chocolate and cherry ganache filling // Malteser cake // wholemeal mini carrot cakes with a mascarpone and vanilla topping // honey, apple, raspberry and granola loaf cake with a crumble top // dark chocolate and vanilla marbled sponge cake with a mascarpone filling and a dark chocolate and peppermint ganache topping (with added pink sparkles!)
These are just a handful of the things I have made, usually just for the utter joy of making it, never really for a special occasion except the last one which was done by request for my cousin's birthday.
I'll be here regularly. Tomorrow I'm making Tarte au Citron using some really old French tart cases I have just bought and cleaned up so here's to them working!
