WINTER IN SUMMER

Here in Derbyshire, as with the rest of the UK, the weather is dismal, grey and a real downer, which means only one thing for me, comfort food... In the form of a spicy sausage casserole to warm me up.

This is nothing fancy in the slightest, just good wholesome food, which is what I'm all about!! All that's in it is good British Cumberland sausages (nice and herby!!), 3 rashes of bacon, whatever vegetables out of the fridge that needed eating, some garlic and chilli (to your own taste), LOADS of black pepper, mixed herbs and the best ingredients of all, a guzzle of Lea & Perrins and a drizzle of good quality sweet balsamic vinegar (the shop I got this one from in Paris is mouth wateringly good and they let you taste it all!). As I said, nothing fancy but possibly the most perfect meal for when it's cold and wet outside.
*Should be eaten in a big bowl with a chunk of good bread, sat on the sofa watching a film with the fire lit for the best heart-warming, smile-enhancing effects.
